Dear Parents and Students,
It's hard to believe it's the end of the school year! I'd like to congratulate our 20 graduating seniors and wish all of you well in your future endeavors. The class of 2012 is as diverse as it is talented and includes graduates on the path to being architects, nurses, doctors, music teachers, actors, astronomers, and even rock stars. It's been a great ride.
I hope that you are able to join us for our final events of the season.
Thursday, May 24th is our Spring Choral Showcase in the PAC. Student report time is 5:30, the house opens at 6:30, and the concert begins at 7 and features the Symphonic Choir, A Cappella Choir, and Harmony Road Show. This is a graded event so please make sure that your student is on time. We have lots of fun music planned for the evening!
On May 31st, we have two memorable events scheduled. The first is senior assembly at 1pm in the Northview Gym. All A Cappella Choir underclassmen are scheduled for an in-house field trip during periods 6,7, and 8 on this date. Here is the schedule:
Students are to dress up for this event. No jeans. Men: Shirt, tie, dress pants, dress shoes. Ladies: Nice dress, or skirt/shirt, skirt/pants combo, nice shoes. Please keep all clothing choices within school dress code.
That evening (Thursday, May 31st) we are having our choir awards banquet at 6pm in the Northview cafeteria. Please see the flier in this edition of the In-Choir for more details.
Finally, we bid farewell to our seniors on Sunday, June 10th at 4pm in the Stranahan Theatre. They are singing the Northview Alma Mater and Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)". I'd like to close this year by quoting a line from this song and it is my wish for each and every one of you with regards to Northview Choir: "It's something unpredictable but in the end it's right; I hope you had the time of your life."
Have a wonderful summer.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Dawn Kingman Director of Choral Activities
